weld with hard facing rod like what is used on plows That is your best bet, tough ass metal. If anything might work, it be a hard surface rod. I use them on backhoe teeth, shredder blades.

Wabi, buy an actual Bridgeport sliding nail puller. That gave me flashbacks to my old job. I've pulled 9 million nails with 1 of those.
