It's the baby boomers that were hippies and twisted the path for future generations, granted not all of them but that generation. So to me the greatest generation was the worst at teaching. It amazes me how so few can draw that conclusion for back then, but see the wild youth of today as a result of poor parenting. Gotta go to the source of where things started to turn. There were decades to steer the ship in a different direction before we got to where we are today. Those who want to sit back and cast blame but were along for the whole ride are the ones most at fault. And I'm not talking about specific individuals, I'm still speaking to the generation and that the role of the majority within it. And still the older folks here only care about their portfolio while younger generations are and have been writing for some time if we'll even be able to retire ever. Let alone the current state where we're worried about the survival of our kids and what kind of life they will have.

We need to treat people like individuals whenever possible and avoid Satan's trap of divide and get groups pitted against each other. We're seeing how that plays out right now in America. It's a trap. Absolutely. As I've seen it used, the term "boomer" tends to be an insult to those who tout blue collar hard work as the sole means to financial stability by the younger generations who seem to be lacking in opportunity. There also seems to be a component of resentment, as it appears the older generations have used the government to enact socialist legislation to safeguard them as they age, such as social security and health care measures, which won't exist (or which will be value-less) by the time they reach retirement age.
