Finally found a deer to shoot at. I've been hunting all fall with the 35 Rem Chris built me and have seen plenty of deer but just have been unable to get my crosshairs settled on one. So I decided to sit on a hayfield last Monday evening and this fellow came out right at dark. Left the 35 home and opted for my Dad's 300 EG. First time I've hunted with it since he passed in September. No pictures of the gun. I guess we all know what a 300 EG looks like.

Darn nice whitetail. Where in Texas did you get him? I got one in Fredricksburg last week. Welcome to the forum. David Royal

Thanks! Just north of Brownwood, going toward Stephenville. That’s my parents’ place. I grew up near Brownwood, now I live north of Abilene. Beautiful country down around Fredericksburg - we try to make it down there a few times a year.
