I see “soy” listed in the ingredients three times. Soy’s healthy, right?

Speaking of soy, I picked up a pack of Impossible Burger the other day on my more-or-less once-a-month grocery run. $6.99 a pound. Looks like burger. Raw, it smells like nothing you’d want to eat, and you definitely don’t want to give it a sniff while it’s cooking. Once cooked, it tastes like burger, more or less. With some cheese and ketchup on a bun, some would never notice the difference between it and cheap beef like you get at a fast food place. Definitely better than the regular veggie burgers like Boca Burger that tastes like recycled Stove Top Stuffing with liquid smoke added. I could eat this in a pinch, as long as I didn’t have to smell it first. Fortunately, I ain’t in a pinch.

I see “soy” listed in the ingredients three times. Soy’s healthy, right? Maybe, it used to be ! Today, 99.8% of all soy product is genetically modified. Not going in my body.

What can I say? COVID cabin fever can make you toss caution to the winds in search of entertainment.
I tried to copy the ingredients, but the clever rascals wouldn’t permit it. Lots of stuff there that mathman probably wouldn’t like.

Pretty sure that’s in there too. Ain’t much that isn’t.
So, what brand of soy sauce do you buy? We use Kikkoman, but the wife also buys some darker stuff that’s really strong when we can find it. Funny, but she never heard of fish sauce until I bought some; not common in Northern China apparently.

My first post in the thread: i see it has the good old hydrolyzed soy protein. That is what fake soy sauce is made of. i use Kikkoman, it's real and readily available.
