Post up pics when you're done please. I'm still working on my two projects, but it's been too cool and damp to spray them out in the shop. Might have to wait until the wife is at church and do it in the house.

Not rich....
LOL!!!
Comfortable would be the word.

Doing final taping right now.

I emailed VHT awhile back about using their ceramic paint on a polymer gun grip.

They said they didn’t recommend it.

This type aint ceramic based.
Their caliper paint is.
Which I have used on the trigger guard, bottom metal floor plate, and bolt knob and handle on my mauser.

The caliper paint holds up really well.
3 yrs ago and 0 chips or flaking yet
Holds up to chemicals also.

Fixing to spray in a couple minutes!!
See how it goes...

eek
1st coat verticle applied
Just seems so unnatural to apply heavy like this per the instructions.
Next coat is horizontal
Last coat is diagnol

Min 5 mins apart.

Then bring it in and try the heat gun on it.

2nd coat...
Schit just violates the mind about anything ever taught about spray painting.

Diagonal coats next.
Then bring it inside to heat gun.
Let it sit 24 hrs.
Then cook it tommorow.

Gonna have ta own the results.
If it comes out schitty...
Im sure the Toms wont mind this spring and I can redo it this summer.

Gonna have ta clear coat matte butt stock and fore arm x 2 I'm thinking.
Whether I leave it black or camo it.

Hit it 3 times with the heat gun over the period of an hour.
Kinda surprised at the results.
Cant see it in this pic but it came out like a rippled wave skin like appearance.

Let it sit for 24 maybe 48 hours.
Then cook it at 200 for an hour per instructions.
Should tighten up the pattern more and fully cure it.

Close up of how the pattern came out.
I think it looks pretty cool.
Unexpected and unsure of how it would turn out.
Espeically after looking at a bunch of vids and seeing how others patterns came out.
Basically all on the users application of it
Thickness, time between coats, distance and direction of spraying.
All comes into to play it seems how it crinkles.

Leave it black
Or throw on green, brown, and some tan camo pattern.

Either way gonna need 2x clear matte sprayed over it.

As long as it does not shine it should be good no matter what color you go with.

Looks good.

Renegade, Why not try your hand at Hydro Dipping? Choose the colors you want, get a tub, fill it with warm water, spray the surface of the water with the colors and immerse the parts you want painted. Swirl the water to get open water and pull them out. It looks pretty cool and is easy to do. Just a thought.
