I have had a couple I really regret, A Browning 1885 in 22-250. have felt bad about that for years. another was a Colt H-Bar elite, it must have been a special edition because I've never seen another like it..........not a rifle but I really regret selling my S&W model 41, mine was a 5.5" and I wanted the 7". by the time I got around to buying the 7" model they had tripled in price so I bought a damn Ruger instead

Yep 98 Mauser 243 Douglas barrel , timney trigger, #4 Bishop walnut stock, glass bedded, that thing was a deer killing machine. Got stupid and sold it. Probably 25 years ago, still miss it.

Quarter century lament? Would it be rudely premature to suggest... possibly... 'perhaps' time to move on!

If I just conjure all the fun women... Err... Guns; I said Guns... I've had in a long lifetime, nothing to complain about! Moreover, by now I'm finally forgetting... All! And now, what was I saying...

I've sold, traded and gave away tons of rifles. But the only one that really hurt was a 600 in .222. At the time I thought I had to step up to more power and traded for a 788 in 22-250. Missed the handy little booger ever since. So about 10 years ago I found one like new and put it in a HS stock and am complete again.....

700KS Mountain .375 H&H. 6# unscoped. Very accurate - when I was able. Guess why I sold it. Given a Mulligan would port and keep.

I bought one of those too.

Sitting in the rack at the LGS, I asked what that gun was with the KDF on it?

They told me, then asked if I wanted to shoot it. I fell for it.......

And the part that pisses me off the most. They come back and tell you what a great deal they made on the sale of the gun, car, whatever, like you are a ph ucking idiot for letting go..

I get the re-re's now and then about letting my
Browning rifles go, but they were just sitting
since I no longer hunted a place where I could
use them. And I did need the cash instead.

Oh yes. Regret selling: Winchester 9422 and a Marlin 444P. Regret not buying: 1) A Ruger 77 RSI in 7-08. It was not a catalogued item but was nevertheless on the rack back when Jumbo Sports was in business. IIRC asking price was around $350. Left the store and thought a couple of hours about it but rifle was gone; and, 2) A Marlin 356 at a local gun show. I took a look at it and the seller put the hard core press on me going as low as $300 but I did not want nor need it. Little did I know how much it would appreciate in value (also true for the 9422).

I sold a Winchester SS Classic M 70 chambered in 338 Win Mag once. I used the money to buy a pre war Model 70. It wasn’t long before I had sellers remorse. So I went and bought it back. I paid a bit more than I sold it for, but don’t regret it. I ended up using that rifle to take a B&C Grizzly. She ain’t going anywhere now.

I have bought, played with, and sold allot of rifles.

The only regret was not in selling the .458 win mag- I just wish I had shot a deer with it first.

But I picked it up in the spring time, had a lot of money wrapped up in it and found someone willing to pay me a lot more. So I sold it before I got a chance to bloody it.

I have regrets on rifles I looked for over a period of time to find, but then have to sell them so fund something else. Lately, I have been buying rifles for my kids to use and don't have the same feelings towards those rifles since they are using rifles more than heirloom stuff. My two youngest are using a Howa Mini-Action in 6.5 Grendel right now. When they out grow it I won't have a problem sending it down the road to get something more versatile for our hunting. It is damn accurate though.

As a favor, I sold a Model 70 FWT stainless/wood in 338-06 to a friend at his urging. Stipulation that I get first right of refusal and at the same price I sold it to him for.

I did the same thing for my cousin and brother. Cousin gave the rifle to his brother instead of letting me have first dips and bother tried to sell that one to my other brother.
