Worst part of retirement for me. Loss of my tribe. So alone. All I do is push forward, survive. You should have been a Toolmaker. All of our tribe is azzholes. Funny Actually thought of using my gi bill to become a machinist or welder

If I hadn't been a soldier I'd have been a tradesman
Good at making/fixing things
Taking up woodworking as a hobby
FYI Conrad, I have always idolized farmers and ranchers, good at everything!

I have a moose in my back yard that hasn't stomped me yet. All I could ask for...
Jim, we've not met and I'm an abrasive a$$hole, but if I can ever do anything to help you out, let me know and I'll make it happen.

probably kind of tough living where you do. i don't know the area at all but it sounds kind of rural. sometimes friends can be found through your kids friends. my kids inadvertently introduced me to several people who i would call friends. not close friends, but close enough for me. theres only one guy who i would call a close friend and we only see each other once a month or so.

I’ve seen pictures of Jim’s most excellent family. A man doesn’t need much more... Bingo! Me and the China Doll are pretty tight. Together all day, every day, and it never gets old. We both have offspring, but mine are busy living, and hers is on the other side of the world. No matter. We are having a blast right here at home. Hunkered down is our natural state, not at all something we dread.
What fresh Hell is this?

Having no friends kinda sucks.
No friends during the covid is worse! Fu-K friends, having MEN you can count on is what matters, You're flush with that, head up Slim Jim.

Two posts from opposite prospectives proving the same point, To have a true friend one must first be a true friend. I prefer to keep my association with others distant and superficial these days. Lack of a social circle doesn't bother me one bit.

No friends during the covid is worse! Where is CowboyTim when you need him? He'd be your special friend.

Yrs ago a great bud died. Also got divorced. Figured out I was going to be alone. Have friends I guess, still work, have kids......but really am actually alone.
First week of covid quarantine was an adjustnent. 2nd was fine. Me and my orange cat just chilled.
Alone aint a problem. Not having stuff to do is. Best have hobbies and or good weather.
