Same 5 or 6 old guys park outside the store for a half hour before we open and stare at us through the windows and then try to outrun each other to the empty ammo counter.
Then they come bitch about us stockpiling it in the back room and about their version of why there is no ammo.
And once this shortage situation ends they will go back to keeping almost zero ammo on hand.
People are stupid and we are unable to learn from history.

Thank you for providing a service to these old guys. If not for you, they would hang out in the local McDonalds and give the staff there the same treatment.
We put the stuff out when it comes in But if there is some still to be put out i leave it til 10am. And even though for months there has been zero in the mornings they still come power walking in. Lol
I bet if someone polite stopped by the store with a cup of coffee and a box of donuts and respectfully asked when you might be getting in a box or two of ammo... maybe they would welcomed.
Retail sucks because you can't kill stupid people.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
Put a "No Ammo" sign in the window before you open and see if that runs them off, then put out the ammo shortly after they leave. I'd do that just to help other folks besides the ammo flippers.

Working behind the counter in a gunshop these days is sure enough interesting.
I stopped at the LGS where I used to work. No components of course but they acquired an estate which included quite an array of boxed bullets, put a table of that stuff out and a near riot ensued...

I haven't been to a gun range in forever because I don't want to use up my ammo reserve
fishing has replaced it for me - and even during the height of the pandemic you couldn't find a well stocked fishing department around here.Couldn't even find a damned ole zebco
