.17 was recalled. I let mine go. That’s where my mags came from. Had no idea there was a recall my dad brother and I all have one consecutive serial #s I believe. It's been in the safe for a good 15 years. What was the recall? Savage A17 is the only semi that is safe from what I know. It features a delayed (or retarded) blow back system so all the powder gets burned prior to opening the action. The Ruger 10/17 or whatever they called it was put away also for said reasons.
