I like when Indiana Jones shoots the sand negro with the big sword in raiders. Always makes me smile I concur. I read that that wasn't in the script. Ford had a bad cold or something and was fatigued by a long day of shooting. He was supposed to fight the guy in some elongated way and win, or something like that. Instead, off script, wanting the scene to end, he just pulled his pistol and shot him. I can't recall if they reshot the scene, but the director thought it was brilliant and kept the concept.

I read that as well, maybe the flu with a fever, Ford reportedly felt like crap. About the best; "I've had enough of this chit" I've seen.
