You're seeing thermodynamics at play. Because of the timescale, this can be considered an adiabatic compression of the air inside the cavity. When this compression takes place, energy is added to the "system" and the temperature rises very quickly (like the compression stroke of an engine piston), and anything inside that is combustible can ignite. In this case, the gel surface may contain chemicals that are flammable or combustible, which may be what we see ignite in the video.

Only a Creedmoor can do that. It not only blows stuff up, but then blows it up again just as the victim is trying to recover. One CM = 2 bullets from a different cartridge.

Yup, the concept is often referred to as an adiabatic fire piston. Here's a pretty good demonstration:

Like putting a little bit of oil in your piston pellet gun, has diesel like effect!

Quoted for TRUTH! This is why the 6.5mm hits way above its weight. Many moose are taken in the Scandinavian countries with 6.5 rifles, perhaps this was the caliber that MarineHawk used to down that impressive one in his avatar. Now we know.

This also explains the terminal ballistics of the 6.5 Carcano round that Lee Harvey Oswald fired that November day in Dallas, 1963. No grassy knoll shooter with a .221 Fireball XP-100 or Secret Service agent negligently firing an AR-15. NO SIR! Just the other worldly power of the 6.5.

I am eagerly awaiting Mule Deer's Gun Gack VI.V edition wherein he will explain this phenomenon is his easy to understand writing style.

What I've heard is that the Creedmoor bullets impact causing a temporary and permanent damage cavity. Then, they discharge a subtle fuel-air-explosive gas behind that has a delayed-ignition characteristic and then re-explodes the unwitting ungulate victim, just when it thinks it might possibly survive. It's not just the physical injury that debilitates the animal, but the psychological injury of the unexpected secondary explosive. Thus, the Creedmoor is not just a conventional ballistic weapon, but a double-ballistic weapon, with a tertiary psychological warfare component.

Yeah, but, if the man bun gets hit by a Creedmoor, it will face a cruel triple death, which sadly will leave the owner with a non-bun.

A man bun, especially a microscopic one, can do wonders. It gives you bun-power without bun-optics.

Yeah, thankfully, there are a lot of Consumer-Driven Services implicated in this thread. http://www.cdsdirectory.org/
