I saw a REALLY cool Mossberg 22 today. Had a crescent buttplate and looked alot like an early Savage 22.

When asked if a Mossberg 500 makes a good home defense gun I reply "do you want to rely on an economy piece to defend your life and the lives of loved ones, or do you want the very best that money can buy?" Good point. I'm going to bet my life on a bargain gun. I guess it depends on how much one values their life. Hope it doesn't jam if it's ever needed for it's intended purpose!

I have a friend that has a 3 barrel shotgun he won at a Sportsman Bash. That should work. He was actually shooting clay birds with it, and did well.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

I picked up a 720 12-gauge for 175 a couple years ago that cleaned real nice for purposes of defending home and hearth. Should that ever happen. It came with a cut down 20-inch barrel. Not the highest in modern shotgun tech but a well proven design.

I actually got that t model from Ron Shumacher, he used to be set up right in front of the entrance at Yuba city show, lotsa guns! Him and his helpers were always drunk as skunks! Bought alot from him, nice guy!
I usually had tables there too.
