So last fall I sent a box of parts to Shaen @ Shaen Rifles and he sent me back a rifle that turned out exactly as I had hoped. Everything about that build is perfect and for anyone not familiar with Shaen he is just a heck of a nice guy to deal with and as far as the quality of his work he's at the top of his game. Since that rifle turned out so good I figured lets do it again I always like having "twins" so off went another box of parts. Just got this one back yesterday evening so haven't shot it yet but thought I'd post a couple pictures. Other than the color of the stock - this one is brown & black speckle and the scope parts are all the same as the 1st one. We did decide to coat the action/rings/bottom metal in Birdsong Black-T and I think it turned out pretty darn slick. I have no doubt this one will shoot as good as the first one, which has been just a fantastic shooting rifle with pretty much everything I have tried which has been limited to factory ammo. Thanks Shaen for another outstanding rifle!! Specs: 7MM-08 Defiance Machine Rebel short action, sheep cut port, extra deep flutes on bolt, Remington style bolt handle with teardrop bolt knob Proof Research carbon fiber stock Bartlein #4 contour carbon wrapped barrel, 1-8.5" twist, finished @ 23" TriggerTech primary trigger Hawkins aluminum BDL with Wyatts mag box/spring/follower Action, rings, bottom metal all coated with Birdsong Black-T - action runs nice and slick! Talley Lwt lows Schmidt & Bender PM II 10x42 Rifle only weighs just under 6lbs. As it sits sans bi-pod 7 lbs 8 ozs I apologize for the quality of the pictures - never can get then just right - but can guarantee the rifle is perfect. The "Twins".

Great build OM. That’s a helluva nice rifle. I like the weight of it even more!

I can dig it, a straight 10x seems a bit much for my hunting, but to each his own

Lol. He has something negative to say about everything.
Very nice rifle. Seems seems like I’ve seen that same model fixed 10x laying around beside more than a few dead animals. Must do ok for some people.

That's not negative. I envision a lightweight 7-08 as a do all hunting rifle. A 10x scope doesn't fit into that equation. Been there done that...
Go hunt timber, aspens, or sit over bear bait with a 10x and tell me its ideal. Even a straight 6x fits the bill better.

So far honestly that 10x has worked pretty good for the way I've hunted with it. Granted I've only hunted antelope with it and for that it was great. I mostly hunt pretty open country so for that I've had no complaints. But I do have a variable on the 1st twin should I need it:)

#4 Bart CF finished @ 23" How long is that blank to start 24 " ?
I've always like the CF wrap look.

I've always like the CF wrap look. Actually the blank was 25" and is supposed to finish @ 24" but I had Shaen cut off about an inch on the shank to get it a bit shorter. Per Frank Green @ Bartlein he said that isn't a problem unless you are building some sort of magnum but this being a girlie gun 7MM-08 he said thats fine.

Couple dandy’s there buddy. Grats 👍
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

Very nice, your builds always look well thought out and come together nicely. How did that first carbon wrapped bartlein treat you?
