I use a single trekking pole all the time when hiking. It helps the old man balance and makes a great makeshift shooting stick.

I'll pray that you recover soon. If you don't take supplements, you might want to try Magnesium Citrate from Kroger's. I'd Stay away from calcium and dairy for now. Then order Magnesium oil. Contact me for details. You rub it in topically. It helps muscles relax.
You could at least reference a specific verse or post a video to some prophetic type doomsayer. It puts the lotion on.....or it gets the hose again.

I would suggest a shillelagh or a bommy knocker.

I have an old Leki trekking pole that works well in the woods , but I can;t get Ma to give it back, so I use some old carbon ski poles. They are life savers !

Wife and I been doing magnesium oil last 3 weeks. I cannot sense any difference. She says he benefits her and gives her energy. No more headaches either.
Mag deficiency may or ‘may not’ have some helpful effect on migraines. The oral availability of magnesium is pretty low. Need an IV bag of it to make a difference. Been there/done that. Was getting magnesium infusions at the a couple times a month. Now that that his calmed down, I am talking 1600 mg Mag-Oxide tabs. Tacrolimus strips the mag from me, I’ll notice a palp or pvc occasionally. All that and my mag runs about 1.6-1.8. Barely in the brackets. The homeopathic oil I referenced is more of an epsom salts type, wishful premise thing.

I broke a foot 35 years ago and transitioned off crutches to a hiking staff fairly quickly. I figured out something almost immediately: hood rats give a man with a stick a very wide berth. It became part of my regular kit after that.
Backpacking taught me that a staff is a really good idea. I boogered my right leg on an overnighter once . I was able to get out on the staff and one leg. That staff also dealt with numerous snakes and other beasties over the years.
I now limit my adventuring to my 200 acre farm. If I'm out, I've got a staff in my hand. The one I'm most fond of is a Pawpaw sapling I cut years ago down in the Big South Fork. I'd taken a tumble on wet rocks and my lower back was complaining. I cut a staff to help me get out. It's remarkably light and strong, and it has lasted 20 years.
In town, I've learned to take a cane/cudgel. I had jury duty last fall. I had not been downtown in a while, and took the cane along as an . . . insurance policy. I'm 62, so it kind of fits the overall look. This thing is as sturdy as a Louisville Slugger.
1) You get a wide berth from the undesirables 2) You get deference from the polite folk 3) Security guards wave you ahead.

I like Leki trekking poles. They're good for where the footing is iffy and also take about 20% of he force off your legs. Properly adjusted, though, they're too short for ahooting support when shooting offhand. Mine have 1.5" spikes on the end. Can be used for protecion against dogs. They weigh hardly anything.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Thought this was gonna be about waking sticks with swords inside.
Or at least a cigarette lighter.

I always use a staff or stick when hunting. Trekking poles would be great, but I only sling my rifle on one shoulder or carry Indian-style because I’m about as likely ti shoot one going in or out as while sitting. Even one stick helps a lot on hills, especially going downhill.
What fresh Hell is this?

No, but I am going to get one. Walking on flat land is one thing, but hiking steep hills and banks is another. I can see they would be handy in rough terrain.

Mag deficiency may or ‘may not’ have some helpful effect on migraines. Magnesium is required for a hundred+ functions. It's good to know about it like you do. The MgCl is much more absorbed and utilized than the oxide form or Epsom salt. It's best used with another good form, but you won't find locally in a drug store. Do you eat a lot of dark greens?

If I’m not carrying a rifle I always have my walking stick with me when I’m out in the woods. I’ve used one for years. When squirrel hunting with my boys it comes in handy as a rest if they’re kind enough to let me take a shot at a squirrel with my pistol.
