Went to an eye doc appointment this morning and as the nurse was doing the initial exam, she asked if I had taken a covid shot. Asked her why she was wanting to know and she replied that the insurance companies were wanting the info. Told her that it was none of her or the ins. co. business and it had nothing to do with my eye exam.

When the dr. came in, she told him I had refused to answer the question about the covid shot and went on to tell him that I said 'It was none of their business'. Now doc has known me for 60 years, so he told her not to worry about it and changed the conversation to hunting and fishing. You shoulda seen the look on the nurses face, you'd have thought she had been slapped or something. As I walked out of the room, I heard doc tell her that he wasn't surprised at my answer..... then the door closed all the way and I couldn't hear anymore.

Today I saw someone had put "Eternity". So I put the " ditto sign and a fake number.

Just out of curiosity, why would you care if they knew this or not? If you had gotten the vaccine, it would already be in a database somewhere. Would you have refused to answer if they asked about a flu shot or the shingles vacc? Would you have told your GP if she had asked? Not sure why this was a big deal. If you've known the doc for 60 years, why not ask him why they want the info?

Long ago when people paid for things with checks you would often be asked for ID and a major credit card. My father had a plastic card from "Major Credit Card" and used to give them that. I don't recall him ever being called on it.

I would say it was about 4-5 years back. My Dr. retired and I had to find another Dr. My wife talked me into going to Kelsy Sebold (SP).

So I did, as I was signing up, one of the pages had to do medical but a page full gun ownership questions. I was like no, none of their business. When it got in front of the Dr. who I had no idea who it was be. It was a black female Dr. I made it clear my gun ownership was none of their business. She said I really needed to fill it out, insurance required it. I started to get up and leave and she changed her tune.

So they did the normal stuff for annual check up. In the follow up Dr. said the nomal, loose weight etc. About 15 months later they sent me an email and said based on those tests I needed addtional test on kidneys, or something needed to be looked at. They called me a few days later. I was like, lets see you call me over a year later and tell me I have a problem. I said here is the problem, you are not busy and trying to print money. I ain't coming back. I found a local private dr. and problem solved.

nurses are funny. some of them seem to like having the authority/control of asking probing questions. was at the plumbing doctor once and i skipped over all the questions about 'performance' and 'activity', told her if there is somethng wrong i'll let her know. the nurse copped an attitude and confronted me about it, she wasn't happy
