Those hogs were shot with a Lonestar Armory TX15 chambered in 6.5 Grendel. The ammo is loaded by Druid Hill Armory and 120gr Corelokts have been used for the last month or so.
Thanks, Dinny

https://youtu.be/PCScok2iJ7kAnyone know a trapper who will skin, flesh, stretch and salt a hog hide in the Denton or DFW area? I want to get a hide tanned for a cabin decoration. Thanks, Dinny

I love the 358. Thanks for sharing. Be Well, RZ.

So Hanco, after shooting all those pigs over the years, what’s your favorite cartridge/bullet combination? Anything a stand out?

Not Hanco but i've killed more than a few, using different iterations in calibers 20 through 45. I tend to favor 6.5 up using bullets of at least 130 grains. I find that bullet placement is the key on pigs. 222 Rem, 50 gr. Ballistic tips. Not exactly a tough bullet. Ear-hole em' and down they go. Bang Flop. With a 325 WSM and a 200 Gr. Accubond or even larger 45-70 Gov't. 400 gr. Speer. One has a bit more margin for error! ya! GWB

GWB There it is! Like you, GW, I've killed a boatload of hogs with a VMax... .223 55gr. Shoot 'em in the ear. That works well for standing shots! But when hogs start running and you have to try for shots through the boiler room, your advice for bigger, heavier bullets is spot on. I've been using a .308 165gr sp for those. Even then you wanna hit them right, or they'll go a ways.

How much of a “problem” are hogs if people are charging folks to kill them? I was talking to a landowner who was complaining about all the damage. Offer to shoot a few, “Sure! $600 up to 200lbs, $750 up to 400lbs, $850 for a trophy!”

Same with prairie dogs or ground squirrels. They’re a revenue source.

'"If they were a problem, they’d be free to shoot."
They are.... but only to people whom I know and trust.

the hard part of letting people you don't know on your place is knowing if you can trust them .I have seen it here let them shoot hogs then next thing a cow or a horse gets shot . keeps people from trusting any body

Same with prairie dogs or ground squirrels. They’re a revenue source. Listen close... I'll talk slow... Texas is private property. Some land owners charge for hunting hogs. They have that as an income source... SOOOOO... They aren't gonna bitch about hogs on their place, are they? The more hogs they have, the better. Right? I mean, if you are selling hog hunts, you'd be pretty stupid to bitch about them. Right? Now his neighbor, who farms and plants corn has hogs come in at night and destroy fields and crops and eat seeds. Reckon he has a legitimate bitch coming? I doubt he charges for allowing someone he knows to hunt them. I LOVE it when I hear someone bitching about damage hogs do. I ask them if I can hunt hogs on their land. Usually that's a resounding yes. So, I kill hogs, and have fun, and the landowner is happy and bitches less. You people that don't have a clue as to what you are talking about ought to exercise you right to remain silent. So, yes, you are still a liar. You talked to nobody that charges what you said that was bitching about hog damage. Didn't happen, so why lie about it?
