5 guns! My peep sighted Savage .22 WMR/20 gauge M24DL with a bunch of 30-50 grain and slug and shot loads would be all I'd ever need. Isn't anything that I could shoot with a handgun that I couldn't shoot better with a rifle. Wish id never sold mine. Got rid of it in favor of 22lr/410 one. The mag/20 was hell of a lot of gun

I notice the Glock 19/17 shows up quite a lot. So does the Rem 870. Why pump when you can just pull a trigger? Help me understand.

I've got a Browing Gold that has never once even jammed, after 1000s of rounds.

Should probably be more concerned about how you're going to power your CPAP and obtain Dabeetus meds.

Out of my current accumulation,and getting it down to 5 IS a task, so I’ll take redundancy/spares off the table:
1 a ruger 10/22 scoped (small game) 2 a Savage 99F in .358Win (big game) 3 a AR-15 16” bbl Colt (defense/yotes) 4 a REM 870 18.5” & 28” Bbls 12ga (defense/small game) 5 a Colt 1911 Gov. 45acp
I would miss my Glock 19, H&K VP9sk, and AR10s, but I could easily get by with the above firearms

The people have spoken, numbers wise the choices are;
870 AR Glock Bolt Action centerfire 10/22
I'm good with top 4, but the 10/22 confuses me a bit. I know it's popular, but we're talkin about moving to your bug out location because of serious events. A 22 rifle, an important firearm to have IMO. But my experience tells me the 10/22 cannot be dependable at times or with various ammo. Something better here?

I'm all ears, been waiting 3 days to discuss this scenario further. An interesting subject to me.
If, the top 4 have the majority of votes, what would you replace the 22 rifle with for the 5th choice?

IMO . . . . . . . .No I would stay away from plastic actions/magazines of the non linear variety.. But of anything that you could cobble together, I figure a .22 would be the safest..based on the quantity of powder...

My experience with the 10-22 is not the same. I've owned a bunch of them and only had one that was not dependable. I think it's a solid choice,especially if you're going with a semi-auto. I don't think going with a semi-auto is necessary though, especially since there are other guns in play. IMO if you're talking only one gun, then a .22 might be the way to go and if that's the case, I think the semi-auto makes the best sense. Personally, I'd be comfortable with either a 94-22 or Marlin 39A or the like. I think the 10-22 is the best semi-auto .22 commonly available. I'd be fine with a Marlin 795 or 60 or the like also, but honestly, I think the 10-22 is the better gun.

So, one receiver and 4 barrels. Is that one gun or 4? It's none if the receiver goes tits up.
