ok ok I get the fact of we have been seeing a compete crap show with all the panic buying. I also agree that ammo companies are churning out stuff as fast as they can and there is no conspiracy by biden to short us. but what is going on with reloading powder? I don't even see this trickle out. its like the stores NEVER get any. shouldn't we be seeing at least a little bit of powder show up? How is powder made? is this stuff mainly imported and labeled by the big handful of reloading companies? lets say hogdon wants to do a batch of 4831, where is it coming from and how are they mixing it up and is there a finite supply of what they can make?

4831 4831sc around here.
42ish a pd IIRC this morning.

still on the shelf at Tn gun country from my lgs post last week.

85 90% of it all still on the shelf
Called slumlord told him sp and sr primers were on the shelves also.

Said he had plenty after his full blown buying spree last friday.
Told me to keep an eye out for LR primers now.

Clarksvegas Tn sucks the root....
I also hate that midsouthshooterssupply is 3 miles down the road.
And us locals in the greater4 or 5 county area have L A Privileges with the walk in store front.

^^^^^^
Tn gun country
Not midsouth walk in store front.

When is the last time anyone has seen AE brand from fed on the shelf????
1st for me in over a year.
Too me this is a good sign of product lines being made again.

Saw alot of rem umc pistol ammo today.
Vista,s rem plant been making stuff for the last month or 2.
Seen thunderturd bulky,s about 5 or 6 weeks ago.

Maybe start seeing seasonal runs of hunting ammo some more in the next couple of months.

The june / july stocking of dove hunting shells might be a good indicator of that.

But it all is getting bought up fast.
But it is also being replenished at a even level around here.

Just my observations.

Schit is obviously different in other regions.

Lot of ya are probably mislead by LGS places selling their inventories online under "no connection sellers" to the shop....

They tell you nothing is coming in .
When in reality it is and they are selling it online and trying to protect their local rep as a "good guy shop".

It all equals benjamins to them.

Powder Valley, Natchez, Midway, Mid South, etc have been getting plenty of powder in. And selling it instantly online.

Papaw's Discount Furniture and Gun Store can't compete with Larry Potterfield or Pete Brownell when it comes to getting shipments of powder from Hodgdon.

I would bet that every bit of that powder in Tennessee was sourced from Mid South.

Powder avail off and on, 30 bucks a lb.
Bullets hard to get.
Primers off and on still, but prices coming way down on them.
Loaded hunting ammo is tough.

Here is another way to kinda speculate on LGS proclaiming they have no ammo, guns, supplies...

Here in clarksvegas.
Ball park estimate on LGS and pawnshops that carry ammo and guns.
8 that I can think of.
Now you got midsouth in the area filling backorders for these shops and other regional distributors they all use.

Before the scamdemic all had ammo, guns, and reloading stuff at some.
Inventory was similar as a whole.
Prices at 2 specifically were always outragous compared to others with exact same items.
Fools patron them.
You can tell from the customers in em alot...

These 2 shops have had very little for inventory guns and ammo wise since april/ may 2020
While the others have had a limited selection or a average selection or a really good selection.
Several of these shops shut down for a week or 2 to allow inventory to build to sell once again.
They are doing business.
Loyal customer base.
Not azz raping people.

While these 2 shops with little to nothing seemingly coming in.
Are staying open , paying 2 to 4 employees , covering overhead, utilities and bemoaning to any fool coming into them about their not being anything to sell while in the same town other shops have a good selection of inventory to sell.

How are those 2 shops staying afloat and making even more Benjamin's???
Online sales with their inventory they get in with proxy seller accounts.

If chicken little would settle down and stop buying ammo and reloading items they don't need we'd see things improve. Until this happens get used to unobtanium with prices to go along. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot everytime the chicken littles amoung us fall for the Y2K mentality of conspiracies and things never being obtainable again. Buy what you need, leave something for the next fellow and slowly things will recover and not be so overpriced and scarce.

Norma 200 for subsonic .308 and lots of other stuff

And the 3931 I was looking for

It is almost 15 16 months of local back orders being filled by midsouth

At one point they was 23 24 months projected behind.

So they are catching up from manufacturers catching up.

Might be more available online over the year from em.

This morning
They had 2 or 3 type of .40 available online and one type of .357 also.

Probably gone by now.

But yes .
What is available local from midsouth is different from their online availability.
They gotta stay in business till inventory levels are able to be presented online for sale.
So they are trying to play catch up by filling local backorders and reducing those.
I think they have put a time window on new local orders being allowed for #,s and frequency in order to get even from all the existing 2019 and 2020 orders.

I talk to one of the guys at the store front every so often.
And one of their well known older guys has a network of gun buyers in the area I have had him make calls with me before to sell guns.
You can get info outta them of what is happeing in a roundabout way thru conversation.

Im in Phoenix today on business. Went by Bruno Shooters Supply for a look see. They have a fair bit of stuff; powder, primers and bullets but it’s pretty spendy. $120/k for primers and an 8# keg of powder was $300. 1# was $45. I bought some ammo boxes and that was it. Thought about an 8# or two of powder, but I flew in and there wasn’t any there that I needed bad enough to pay shipping on.

A long time ago I used to pick up 5744 for the region 2 TWRA head honcho warden.
For his savage smokeless.
Cultivated a relationship with him about inner workings of TWRA
State wildlife biologists, and how the Governors good ole boy appointed TWRC commisioners had final say so in game regs in the state. Cause these commissioners had goodole boy interest only from their regions.

People used to get really ticked at me on TN Deer when I would lay out schitt on threads and tell em TWRC has zero interest in the average Tn hunter and only their friends from some of the common sense things wardens and biologists in the state would have liked to have enacted.

That was 06 to 11 era before I got banned.
Now that some of the old fuddy duddy appointees are no longer on the govs gang.
Tn has done some good things management wise over the last 5 or so years.

Totally off ammo subject.
But kinda along the lines of networking and gaining info thru conversations.
