I've noticed the past week, several items I want to purchase just aren't on the shelves or I have to go to a couple of places to find them.

My local Wal-Mart has been out of brake cleaner for about a week now, also they don't have any of the cheap r134a freon, no cheap mower batteries, no cheap spray cans of paint , my local Meijer is out of Dale's Steak Sauce, Duke's Mayo, and Pioneer gravy mix

are you guys seeing empty shelves for items you buy regularly?

my little town is falling apart - can't get help and now can't buy stuff I used to take for granted.

local Sonic had a sign that said "work for us and get 2 stimulus checks a month"

A local Bojangles manager told me they're having trouble getting chicken!

He thinks its a transport issue, can't find enough truck drivers?

I do quite a bit of fabrication work and the place I buy much of my steel tells me they are having trouble getting things like trailer axles. The local boat shop tells me the same thing. Why would these be hard to get? I have no idea.

I don’t do Walmart, but the locally owned grocery seemed well stocked, auto parts store was short a couple products. Maybe it’s a Walmart issue?

The load to truck ratio is very high right now, in the 90s last I looked. For most of the last couple of years it was in the 20s. Just getting things where they need to go is a problem.

But there are also a lot of feedstock shortages. Most grades of steel are way short. The late 2020 tropical storms and the freeze in Texas have put a lot of petroleum derived chemicals pretty far behind demand. Semiconductors are short everywhere. Lumber mills can’t keep up.

I keep reading about the truck driver problems. It's got to where they'll hire about anyone who can pass a drug test ... which is the main problem. There aren't enough clean drivers to fill the available jobs.

I went by my boat dealer a couple weeks ago. All their Lowe boats are sold out for the year. Wait until 2022 if you want a new one. An acquaintance sells for a local Ford dealer. Two weeks ago he thought they would be out of F150 and F250s this week.

I tried to buy a dishwasher for my mom back in February, it was a 3 month wait for everything except the $1000 models. I ended up fixing her old one.

This pandemic has turned us into 1980's Cuba

now it seems its an issue for some of the $2 items.
