What are those hogs doing for water? That is awfully dry looking country out there. Over here they are always close to water. Where did the original stock of those swine come from? Are they native or invasive?
It's actually amazing how much water there is out there. There are lots of man made dams that have been put in for Stock. Plus the rivers and the odd swamp here and there. They've evolved into a very resilient, hardy breed of feral Pig.
They are an introduced invasive species here. Hence why they spend millions trying to eradicate, or atleast cut there numbers. The government mainly uses poisons.
I'm not sure anyone knows the exact year they were introduced. But many reports say it was around the late 1700. The Europeans bought them here along with Rabbits, Foxs, Camels, Water Buffalo, Donkeys, Hare's, just to name a few of the things that are shot by the thousands in Australia trying to control numbers. We have plenty of things to shoot in Australia.
