Reminds me of chasing jacks at night as a kid in 70's Northern AZ. That wouldn't fly these days. Back then it sure seemed like good clean fun though.

Crazy ass Aussies!
I'm jealous.

Startled me when I saw the shotgun out the window.

Nice to see an AR there. I thought they were all gone. What ammo are they using in the shotguns?

99% of Australians can't possess Semi-auto's. The dedicated few who set up pest control businesses and go through all the red tape and expense can apply to have them. Only a couple of States here allow that thought. There are about 1000 Cirvilians across Australia can have them. So essentially they are banned. And the laws are getting even more restricted every year.

The anticipation of getting out is have the fun.😁

Thanks again for the feedback mauserand9mm.

The 12GA with #4 Buckshot is my go to for shooting hogs out of a moving car that's bouncing across a field.

An AR is better for the big hogs. If I have another shooter beside me with a 12GA I'll use an AR. If I'm up the back on my own I'll use a 12GA.

Because we are doing pest control we are shooting everything. Big and small. The small piglets are bloody hard to hit with an AR from a moving bouncing platform. Hence why I'll opt for the 12GA if I'm the only shooter up the back.

The Scope you see in that vid is a 1-6 Vortex Razor. On 1x it's better than any Red Dot I've ever used. Hence why I'm using it from the back of the car.

Great video. You fellas look like you’d fit right in over here!!

Dan

Thanks Dan!!

I reckon most of you guys would fit in well in Outback Australia too. Especially out shooting a few hogs. Lol

I find the smaller Buckshot such as #4 Buckshot gives us a far better kill average. I guess it's just more pieces in the air to hit something vital. The OO Buckshot is fine on big hogs at close range.(most loads are in close) Out past 20 yards I think the smaller Buckshot is by far superior. That's just what we find when using both. I'm not sure on the science behind that but I think at range sometimes those 9 pellets in a OO load just miss everything of importance. Where as the smaller Buckshot. Only takes one pellet to hit a vital like the brain and down they go.

Haha... we would argue its the right side of the road. Besides it's far better to shoot from that side if your a right hander.

The inspiration for those Mad Max movies came from the tradition of Chasing hogs around the outback in trucks.😁 Least that's what I reckon.

Mainly #4 Buckshot but we do experiment with different Buckshot loads. Prefer the smaller Buckshot though.

We never bother with Slugs. We will use an AR rifle before using Slugs.

I'd use the number 4 buck too.

More pellets, more hits.

What are those hogs doing for water? That is awfully dry looking country out there. Over here they are always close to water. Where did the original stock of those swine come from? Are they native or invasive?

It's actually amazing how much water there is out there. There are lots of man made dams that have been put in for Stock. Plus the rivers and the odd swamp here and there. They've evolved into a very resilient, hardy breed of feral Pig.

They are an introduced invasive species here. Hence why they spend millions trying to eradicate, or atleast cut there numbers. The government mainly uses poisons.

I'm not sure anyone knows the exact year they were introduced. But many reports say it was around the late 1700. The Europeans bought them here along with Rabbits, Foxs, Camels, Water Buffalo, Donkeys, Hare's, just to name a few of the things that are shot by the thousands in Australia trying to control numbers. We have plenty of things to shoot in Australia.
