I’ve really underestimated the extent to which dispensationalism was cemented into the minds of boomers, and how deep seated their Christian Zionism really is.
I wonder what can be done about this?
Try blowing it outta your ass. Might help you some.

The really key event in the timeline for the "last days" is the peace treaty between Israel and the Arabs. Trump was closer than any president has even been in getting that done. It would seem when that peace treaty is signed, and it will be, that marks the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation. It will be a false peace though, it is written that it will be. Halfway through the tribulation is when the Jewish temple comes into play in a major way. The anti-christ will claim he is god in the temple and defile it. So with that in mind the Temple will be rebuilt.
The Jews aren't trying to rebuild the Temple because of any of this. They want to return to their Old Testament worship and that will include animal sacrifices. After the Temple is defiled though many will have their eyes opened to who Jesus really is and they will turn to Him.
Some say the Dome of the Rock is not on the original Temple Mound. If that's true one major obstacle is out of the way.

You may be wrong about wanting to return to animal sacrifice rituals.
Jus sayin.

So many of today's churches are wrapped up in this idea of a rapture. It was invented in the mid 1800's by an English preacher named John Darby. I've never found anything about it in the Bible. I believe what the Bible says and it doesn't say that.

One of the requirements they have before work can begin on the Temple is that the ground has to be cleansed with the blood of a red heifer, pure red. For many years they have kept them under guard just for that purpose. A pure red heifer is rare. They have also been building all the items used in the Temple according to what they used in the beginning, in the Tabernacle during Moses time. Also thanks to dna testing they are finding people that have a true bloodline that can be traced back to the Levites. These were the original people that Moses appointed for the service of the Tabernacle and later the Temple that Solomon built. Why would they not return to the animal sacrifices? It's part of the Levitical law. I'm not disputing I could be wrong but I don't see why they won't keep the entire rituals of the Temple.

Jim, respectfully I’d ask if you have a specific link concerning this as it pertains to the rebuilding of the Temple?
I ask because I am not aware of those specific requirements.
Again, asked with respect, Jim.

I read about that too. It's been a while since they had full red cattle. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just asking. Why haven't they been sacrificing for two thousand years? God didn't even ask for a temple. When we think about it, you'd think they'd be doing it all along. Before Christ, there were specific instructions for the alter to be made of a pile of rocks or soil. There wasn't much special about it other than what not to do, like no tool work on the stones.
