Lol...I'm at the office. We have a few 240's and 60,000 go-ready rounds. It would take me five minutes to remember the combinations though. G19 ain't to far away though and two really nice sets of cutlery between me and it.

2 seconds wouldn’t let any thug past the first pile of newspapers. I could finish breakfast before they got halfway across the living room. If one of the cats didn’t get them first, the smell would.
I should get the fridge fixed, it is so bad, I can’t hardly stand the smell.
I was thinking the other day how much I used to hate Bill Clinton. He was freaking George Washington compared to what they are now.

With only 2 seconds I'd be trouble, but within 5 seconds they'd be in trouble. My thinking is, your a dumbazz if you don't have a firearm within arms length at all times.
Life is good live it while you can.

Glock 26 w/ 17 rounds of 124 Gr HSTs always appendix-carried which gets me to my bedroom where my AR is ready to be dropped into battery with 1 of 6 loaded 30 round MAGs.

I have my Sig P-365 in my jammie pocket as I type.
I'm upstairs, and can get to my AR loaded W/30 rounds of V Max ammo, as the front door is broken in.
The perps. just hit the wrong house.

The possibility of that scenario occurring is so remote, I don't feel the need. To get to the house, which is not visible from the main road, they have to drive in on 1/2 of rough gravel driveway, open two creaky gates (without alerting the Airdale). At this point they have 125 yds to go before they get to the house. As I said, pretty unlikely. On the way to the house, they would have to deal with the Airdale. She won't bite but will annoy the hell out of anyone. GD

Right at the moment I'm sitting at my desk at work. The best that I can do is a pair of scissors. I guess I could throw my stapler at them.

I guess I got hung up on the 2 second factor, it is both a conceivable problem and a solvable one. A timer would test your plan. A trained person can draw, target ID, discriminate, aim and fire a few shots in that time. When standing and waiting for the beep.
I just ran the scenario w/ my wife using the stopwatch on her phone in a motel room while seated in an armchair and wearing my G19 AIWB. 2 seconds is not much time, even when prepared to react.
Reality is a bitdch.

Concealed carry dog? If your dogs don't give you ore than 2 seconds warning, shoot the dog. Mostly, mine guard the door to make sure no one leaves without them.

I can get a good picture of them before I go down if my autofocus is fast enough. OTOH, my wife is between me and the front door. Cool. She can buy you some time. If it was my wife, I'd just wait until she annoys them so much that they would beat feet.

Sitting at the desk in my home office, at the moment.
There is a 3" barreled Ruger GP100 .357 in the middle left desk drawer. It's fully loaded with 145 grain Silvertips.
There is a Ruger Mini-14 between the desk and the wall loaded with 20 rounds of 45 grain Ballistic Tips. I loaded it and put it there on election night last year, and it's been there since.
My bedroom has a Colt Combat Commander 1911 loaded with 200 grain Silvertips on the shelf under the nightstand tabletop. Also a Winchester 1200 Pump police riot gun is behind the nightstand loaded with 00 buckshot.
The two 90+ lb. Akitas will pretty much deter anyone other than law enforcement from entering.
