A bunch as a teen in the 70’s, times were different then.

Later on in my motorcycle period I rarely drank more’n three beers, didn’t enjoy riding drunk. But one night I was three sheets into the wind. A Cop pulled over the buddy I was out bar hopping with, coulda easily been been me, I actually blacked out part of the ride home. Couldn’t believe I made it the next morning, the ol’ Guardian Angel was working overtime that night.

The last time I got pulled over by a Cop I was leaving a bar late, he was trolling for drunks. I passed the field sobriety test, that was thirty years ago, I can’t recall drinking and driving since then.

Now there’s a story of note, sorry for your loss, she must have been wonderful.

It’s amazing how safe drinking used to be.

Maybe a similar story here, lost my first wife in 1997, sobered up just in time to make the worst mistake of my life by marrying the evil #2.

To the OP, where I grew up drinking a driving won't a big deal. I should have had several. Later I got a job that required a clean DL and spotless background checks. No more risking the loss of income, there was always somebody willing to pilot the ship anyway.

It’s seemed like the laws were a lawyer’s game, fattening their pockets. If you’re poor, your Phuqked, got money, no problem.

If you’re truly poor you won’t GAF because it’s not going to change a fugking thing in your day to day life.

If you’re truly wealthy, you won’t GAF because your lawyer is gonna eat cop ass and get you out of it.

If you’re middle class (America’s backbone) you’re gonna shave about three years off your life, potentially lose your primary source of income, and spend $10K just so the government you pay taxes toward will allow you to go to work.

By and large people support DUI enforcement. Because by and large, people are fugking stupid.

Dont know if it was worth it or not.

Maybe, but those who had to clean up the messes usually say different.

We probably need more laws.

I suspect MADD wants the level of alcohol allowed is zero. If that is true, then EVERY person who partakes in Holy Communion on Sunday is a criminal.

Why don’t they mandate breathalyzers in every new vehicle?

...if it saves just one life.

You also should have to show your Vaccine Passport before buying a new car.

And driving in a snowstorm should be illegal.

Driving in a snowstorm is safer than driving slow in the left lane with your left turn signal flashing.

Enhanced penalties I could support.

But [bleep] like AZ being a felony for even first offense is insane.

Ticket the self righteous fugkers tailgating or backing up traffic with their godsdamned fugking homes on wheels they don’t know how to [bleep] navigate with.

Very good attorney told my brother never take a breathalyzer. He said he can get you off if you don’t but you’re likely screwed if you do.
