I use Pasture Pro from Tractor Supply. I have been happy with it. I mix it just slighty strong and put in some sticking agent like dish soap. I'm killing multi floral roase and bull thistles. My primary target is wild parsnip. Nettles and buck brush get it too.

I have ordered them from Rural King before when I caught them cheap, the savings made up for the shipping costs. Here's a link to one of the brands of generic roundup, it's not a very good price at $45 for a 2.5 gal jug but it shows what to look for. It's sold under several different brands, the key is to look at the label and see 41% glyphosate.

I agree 100%, been using Roundup for years but lately, it doesn't kill chit. Guess the cancer bullchit has caused grief for the company.

Cattle salt, 8 bucks 50 pound bag, dump in sprayers, fill with water, let sit overnight to breakdown, stir with stick in big tank, shake pack sprayer, anyone remember the summer long dead grass spots where granny cranked out a a bucket of homemade ice cream? same/same, plus, salt water wont hurt you to breath or be harmful to skin.

About anything marked for brush or wood will work 2-4-D won't .
Spray only when plants are in a growth cycle. If they stressed or or hot, with no growth, most sprays will not work.

I like Tordon, but in Colorado you can't buy it unless you are a certified sprayer business

My across the street neighbor had trouble with brush growing next to her retaining wall. Couldn't rip it out without damaging the wall and sprays weren't working. I told her to get a bag of the cheapest water softener salt she could find and spread it among the stems. $3 and some water later, no live brush.

Salt works but it will spread and it can take a long time for it to work it's way out. Don't put it where you might want to grow something else in the next 20 years.

My pastures are for horses, so I bush hog it before applying 24D. Seems to work.

Then use the bush hog whenever it is taller - used to use a mower behind the tractor, but at least once per year the grass grew so fast that I had to cut 1/2 width passes to avoid plugging up the mower, so I gave it to a friend and bought the bush hog - can always make a full width cut now.

Dicamba works great on plants that it works great on.

Helena has a product out called HardBall that is neither an amine nor ester based 2,4-D. Super low volatility and kills plants on par with the best ester based products. I've only made applications at 96 degrees at this point, but I've had zero movement. I don't intend to push the temps any further, but it's amazing to have in my tool box.

Anyone tried Freelex??? Less volatile than normal 2,4-d.... (and cheaper than Hardball)

If I remember right, it’s not registered for use in CA.

I have never been a fan of weed killers, but I have been "educated" by some here and the womenfolk in my family,(Ma is now 84) appreciate not having to weed a ton with the garden hoe. My Ma and sister absolutely hate weeds. I like all the bees and butterflies that hang around and the birds sure do enjoy the seeds in the fall. That being said, I am spraying a buttload this year! I get exercise with the amish weed eater on the thistles along fencelines and pasture. My nephew has the pastures rented out to an organic herd of brown swiss heifers , so I avoid spraying anywhere near them. They love the thistles once I dig them up or hack em down, though I have never seen them eat one on the stem!

Might try some Invora. Maybe some Method with a little Escort.
Straight Method might do it.

Roundup mixed with 2-4D does the trick for me. Kills everything I spray it with from saplings, briars, poison ivy, weeds etc...... I always mix double the recommended strength.

Checked into it today and Freelexx got registered in CA back in Jan. Got some on order. Will see if it holds candle to HardBall. Thanks!

I got 2 gallons of Triclopyr and a bottle of Escort en route.

I’m feeling a smidge dangerous now.

Brush and briars are gonna pay.
