The last couple of weeks when I've been checking fences and filling water troughs I've been carrying my rifle barrel down across my chest, sling across my back. Like a 2-point sling with an AR. I'm finding it very comfortable and easy to shoulder/shoot. Left side flush cups make it easier but it works with sling swivels as well.'

Do many of you hunt using this style of carry? Wouldn't be a good fit when really making tracks but for slow walking I'm liking it.

Not the same as a two point , but I've used this for years. Boonie Packer Safari . Made my own before I bought this one.
I'm able to carry in front or on my side. Both arms are free for easy walking in rough terrain.

I often carry my AR this way when chasing pigs. I’ll carry a bolt gun muzzle down over my left shoulder but haven’t done it across my body like you describe.

My rifles all have Boonie Packer slings on them, or if they don't, I move one from another rifle for use. I think I have 4 or 5 of those slings. They can be used as shoulder slings or back-slung as well.

Very handy carry when carrying a big pack, or to use binocs without putting the rifle down.

I carry a Boonie Packer or homemade version with me. I use it in brushy county. I like to use a tight sling as a ishooting aid in more open country and can't figure a way to use the Boonie Packers for that well enough to suit me.

I've been shooting a couple of rifles with left side flush cups (stock or chassis) the past couple of weeks and have found it easier to hold offhand with this 2 point setup. Left shoulder pulling back just a little pulls the forend into my left hand and steadies things nicely.

I spent an hour walking around looking for some missing stock with a 2 point slung bolt action this morning and I don't know why I've never tried this before.
