Arizona
You tell them to GET OFF MY PROPERTY
and if they do not
You can SHOOT them and call the Police and or Sheriff and tell them to come get the trash off your property because it is starting to stink.
I got that from an Arizona Highway patrolman while we talked on the side of the road for about an hour when he pulled me over to find out what I was doing with all of the equipment on my trailer.

Not sure “a cop told me” would fly in court.

How about citing a statute from their criminal and/or civil code to back that one up.

How long ago were you told that?

Back in the '60's a college student was shot for walking over some guy's lawn in Scottsdale/Arcadia. It was legal to do that then but the law was promptly changed.

OK OK OK
So I left out that you need to tell the police that you were in fear for your life
Arizona has the Castle Laws and you are 100% in your right to defend against someone on your Property. Unlike Commyfornia where you can not even defend your self inside of your home.

Now you're into something which is a whole nuther kettle of fish. Castle Doctrine is settled law in many parts of the US. If that nut shot someone for stealing property his goose is cooked. And rightly so. The law is prepared to deal with theft of property and trespass on private property.

Correct. Deadly force is justified in defense of "theft during the night time" in Texas.
