Recently bought a place with a indoor horse riding arena - 96’ft x 120’ft...Don’t ride, but, I do shoot. Wifey is all in.

Winter, I will bring in clean dirt, build support walls and barriers, upgrade the lighting. Replacing the gutters and drain lines this summer to fix the water seepage.

Then it’s set steel and cardboard targets. Done.

Wish ammo prices would come down by the time I’m finished...That ain’t gonna happen.

Put a good fan in while you’re at it. You’ll be breathing lead fumes from the primers if you don’t.

The building has 6 slide opening windows that are 6’ft long x 3’ft high

Figured with the sliders opened and the height to the ceiling trusses, I’d be g2g.

You disagree?

I should write a freaking book...Grizz's guide to Nevada Brothels and Bordellos. In paper back tips on how to negotiate, best time of the day to swing by, how to snatch the two for one special.

You'll need good ventilation or your risk of elevated lead in your blood goes way up.

The sliders open plus a huge fan or two behind the fitting line blowing downrange would work for some shooting, but I'd still be worried shooting a lot.

The blood test is cheap, do it a few months in a row after you start shooting and see if the lead levels in your blood go up.

Yeah Beav, you should really have moving air exiting the building down range. Look into a large gable end fan or a chicken house fan.
Lead fumes are bad juju.
That will be a very nice setup, congrats!

Do indoor ranges use some sort of high speed hood system?

Yes Sir, the world famous 'Chicken Ranch' in Pahrump off Homestead Road right next door to 'Sheri's Ranch.' I don't drive to Nevada jut to kill a few Coyotes

No shît !

I could be very cool, if I think the build out correctly and pay attention to some details.

Lighting package I’m going with will give low light options, that can mimic dusk, near dark, and almost pitch black.

Building some barricades and a few low walls. 96’x120’ ft looks like a large space, empty...But, run and gun will whittle this space down quickly. I can’t go a full 360* unless I spent a small fortune on backstops.

My thinking is line of fire will be front facing left - center - right with 15 yards of safe zone behind the starting position.

Drawing it up is frustrating....Wanting to have the ability to change the course with some ease for different shoots.

Any ideas ?
