My Dad was 51 when I was born and when I was a kid he took me everywhere with him, most people mistook me for a grandson but he was proud as hell when he'd say "nope, he's all mine". I was his sidekick and all I wanted was to be with him. Years later he called to say his cancer was back and asked if I'd come stay with him until he died.
I’m the only Grandson on my mother’s side. Reminds me of my grandfather; especially the part about driving him when he was to drunk to. I did that a few times starting about age 8. I finally told my aged mother about that a few years ago. She nearly had a heart attack 😄
Up From the Grave He Arose sprang first to my mind.
Low in the grave He lay Jesus my Savior! Waiting the coming day Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave He arose With a mighty triumph o'er His foes He arose a Victor from the dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign He arose! (He arose) He arose! (He arose) Hallelujah! Christ arose! Vainly they watch His bed Jesus, my Savior! Vainly they seal the dead Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave He arose With a mighty triumph o'er His foes He arose a Victor from the dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign He arose! (He arose) He arose! (He arose) Hallelujah! Christ arose! Death cannot keep his prey Jesus, my Savior! He tore the bars away Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave He arose With a mighty triumph o'er His foes He arose a Victor from the dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign He arose! (He arose) He arose! (He arose) Hallelujah! Christ arose! Up from the grave He arose With a mighty triumph o'er His foes He arose a Victor from the dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign He arose! (He arose) He arose! (He arose) Hallelujah! Christ arose!
