The 358 Win RS Carbine originally was supposed to be a RSI Mannlicher style carbine. Upon finding the barrel diameter to large for the slender forend of the RSI stock, they decided to put them into a standard sporter stock. But, a few were actually put into the Ultralight RL stock with the black forend tip, becoming the even rarer 358 RLS Carbine.

RL is Ruger Light rifle, no sights, 20" barrel
RLS is Ruger Light with Sights 18" barrel.

I had a 1988 RLS in 30-06 and a couple 257 Rbt’s RL’s. The RLS is the same as the RSI, just with a 1/2 stock and black forend cap rather than the full length Mannlicher (International) stock. I remember my Ruger 77 RS in 358 Win had a 19” barrel, not 19.25” as stated above. 2nd from top:

10GS: Thank you for posting that informative list on the M-77's I tried to copy it and paste it so I could make a hard copy but the format of your post won't allow it. I can copy and paste all other postings hereon but not yours. Could you direct me to a source where I can make a copy of it? Thanks again and thanks in advance for any assistance.
