I'm sorry, 44mag4me, I just now saw your comment. Yes, I still have this rifle, complete with dies and components. I tried to Private Message you but your box is full. Please email me at jwatkins customcpu.com. Jerry/AK

That is still a very cool rifle!
"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

The stock looks the same as the one on our Mod. 70 Featherweight "Stainless Classic" 30-06. Best looking stock Winchester ever made. Your loaded round looks about identical to my .348 Ackley Improved round, but do to action strength I can't get the velocities you do with my 250 grain load.
Any way, a cool option for a short mag. !

1Akshooter, It is indeed a Model 70 Featherweight Classic stock. I had a gunsmith in Palmer, Alaska, modify it to fit the Montana Rifle Co barrelled action, and he did a great job. Thanks for the compliment. Jerry/AK

This is a unique and very cool rig. The Montana 1999 action is a great CRF action, combining the best of the Mauser 98 and the Winchester M70. I am more of a "fast .30 cal" guy, otherwise this rifle would already be sold.

If it’s anything like my 375-300, then it’s a down right killer. Gotta love those 300 wildcats. Fine looking rifle!

I've heard this one referred to as the 35 Wapiti. Download it to 358 Legend or 35 Rem ballistics and you'll be golden. Nice rifle, but my wildcatting days are over. Then I'll just download it and blast whitetails here in Kentucky. I don't have to sell it. Jerry/AK

That's a thinking man's rifle. I just bought a 35 Whelen or I'd be on it like white on rice.
Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

@ Jerry: Aren't you the guy who used to swage down the 9.3mm/286 gr partition to 0.358"
That would be something I'd be interested in.
