Ok...
Now I know what rifle you are talking about.

Didnt put the name with the rifle

Slumlotd has one of those also.
In .223
Accurate.

He can change barrels to .204 also IIRC

I.think .243 maybe too.

Strange looking rifles.
But very consistent accuracy wise.

This one has a .223 and 6.5 man bun.

Both shoot lights out.

By that, I mean cold bore, first shot, hits the same fugging place day after day.

I have to change the magazine and bolt to switch mine, but it works.

Fausnaugh does it right. the right conditions will tear up even a ss rifle. No way I would shell out the money to cote a low value rifle. I went carbon for extended beach based hunts but the bolt and triggers turn brown.

Honestly....

Never have had an issue with a walnut and blued gun in schitty weather rusting.

Good healthy oiling before hunting.

Unload gun back at the truck.
Hunch over inside cab if still raining with gun.
Pop open glove and grab some of the paper towel from the gas station.
Wipe down and dry before putting back in case.
The paper towels will even slide under the free float barrel to get water their too.
Not very hard to do........

Putting a wet gun in a case is extremely stupid and how many people have done that or seen others do it....
Just begging for surface rust to start happening fast.
Like within a hour a wet gun put in a case will start to surface rust.
How many have seen or heard that story.
A wet gun put in a case for a short amount of time or days or weeks
And the owner is like how did that happen and it is nothing connected to what they didnt do...

Leave butt end of case open to " breathe" till ya get home.

Blast out gun with a good aerosol protectant like Rem oil.
Or some similar product.
Clean your scope lenses.
Punch your bore
Leave case open or even put it in dryer on air cycle to tumble and dry for 10 or 15 mins.
Wipe off Rem oil
Get your self a barber brush or even a 1.5 to 2 inch wide regular brush and oil you gun.
Put back in case.
Go hunt next time.

Lotta people dont wanna spend that extra time like 15 to 30 mins taking care of a gun.
Was always taught.

Take care of your gun, before you take care of you.
A gun cant take care of itself.
But a gun can take care of you.

Oh.....
Bonus hint...

A exterior light coating of vaseline of all things is excellent water and salt air protection for guns in those conditions.

Wag more, bark less.

The freedoms we surrender today will be the freedoms our grandchildren will never know existed.

That looks good. I just can't seem to keep my spider webbing/marbelizing nice and neat like that. I always seem to overdo it in multiple spots.

Try a test panel and don’t get so close.

Will do. I had someone tell me to let it "drift" onto the stock and not to worry how much I waste.

Pretty good point, you will waste more. When you do a test panel also try making fast passes as you spray it.

Yeah, just like in the Corps, the weapon gets cleaned before I get to shower.

But after the deer.
