Holy Toledo that's cool.

Congrats to your dad.

Loved helping Pop load and dress his deer. He would have Mother call and say he needed a little help, was I in town?

Got him a little Jap 4X4 truck out of a Distribution Center I built for Macy's, the rack people used them to haul pieces inside, put 4 wheeler tires on it, it would climb trees. This is him at 85, showing off his camo job:

Built a slide board, strung him up a 4 part line so he could drag 'em up by himself. Drove rebar and hung fence panels and trained honeysuckle in a few spots and he could just pull up and sit and watch the crossings, stay dry and warm and have his coffee and dump 10-12 does every year, the occasional good buck. He would make 3-400 lbs of deer sausage every year till Mom passed away. Took his last deer when he was 89.

He was an opportunist, he was working in the garden when a flock of geese came over, he ran to the truck and got his Browning out and stood in the flower bed waiting, they got overhead and he dropped one, that fell through the picture window in the living room. $400 goose.

Good on your Dad and you for helping him stay out and after it!

I can only hope I'm on the right side of the grass at 95 let alone hunting.

Ditto. I'm taking down the last bee hive today with my 81 year old father, and hope that he can continue to get after it for a long while yet. It always is good to read stories like these written here.

Not bad for someone who's working on 95.

That's awesome brother. My dad is still getting it done at 89 last fall. I wasn't there in Nova Scotia covid had everything closed. Going through the process now to get there on the 27th now. Season starts on the 29th. Been hunting together for about 50 years now almost every season.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all
