She wants something with an illuminated dot in a cross hair Looking for something simple and effective Give me some ideas and recommendations most of her shooting is 200 yards max And most shots falling around 75 to 125 yards. Power range and brand appreciated.

Trijicon Accupoint is hard to beat IMO. The 3-9 works great and weighs less than 14 oz. We have several. It's not a Night Force, and I did buy one used once that was not usable due to erratic tracking. Trijicon sent a replacement for free. My wife replaced a VX-6 with one on her 7-08 and is very happy with it.

I have done a lot of research for a 3-9 ish, 1" tube quality scope with illuminated reticle not made in China, and I ended up at the accupoint. Have not bought yet
If leupold would put their firedot on a heavy duplex in their VX3-HD line; that would be awesome. But they have not.

You can buy anything you want but the best is a Trijicon 3-9.....first and most important with any and all others if the battery docent work the cross hair will not be anything but a black cross hair.....get a Trijicon 3-9 and if the battery doesn't work you still have available light to illuminate the cross hairs.....
Spend your money on what you think is the best Trijicon is the only scope that doesn't need batteries to work....long before night vision was more affordable I only used Trijicon....
You can do like I did try out other scopes with lighted cross hairs and sold or just buy the best and only scope to buy Trijicon.....

Trijicon Accupoint or Credo, I have both in 3-9x40. If you want to keep it light go with the Accupoint, excellent scopes either way.

That illuminated Burris E1 3-9 that Doug had for a while was the best for the $…most of the other stuff mentioned is 30mm….but some are still light. There are several reticles out there that are just as fast/easy to see as illuminated reticles in low light hunting situations.

I second the Burris. I got a lit dot #4 for well under $200 and it gives up nothing to my Vx3- except maybe a little bulk.

So you guys like the 3-9? I put my 1-4 on the single shot, and decided my man-bun NEEDS illumination. I liked the Plex reticle with the green dot while browsing.

1" tube scopes with reticle illumination are not exactly numerous. Of the remaining options, if your budget allows it, I would probably pick up Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 and be done with it.
They have been making it forever and a day, so it is well proven and robust, while fairly lightweight.

Never used one, but I'd be inclined to try out a Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 Forceplex illuminated part number C611 ~ $985.00.
