I have a Zeiss Diavari 3x9x36 that looks like it has the Z-Plex reticle. I am trying to find the reticle subtensions in order to be able to estimate holdover at longer ranges. Zeiss has this page on their website: https://www.zeiss.com/content/dam/c...datasheet-non-illuminated-reticle-20.pdf

It shows the opening between the center of the crosshairs to the beginning of the thick section of the crosshairs as covering 23" at 100 yards at 10 power and covering 29" at 100 yards at 8 power. So my scope set at 9 power should cover 26" at 100 yards. I estimate that dimension on my scope covers about 4" at 9 power at 100 yards. Where does Zeiss come up with 26"? What should that number really be?

It looks like the chart is for a different scope than yours.

If you've looked at a grid 100 yards away and the distance is 4" then it's 4". Simple as that.

I just found a better chart. It is for the 3x9x40 Conquest. I compared it to the Diavari and the Diavari is slightly narrower. I estimated that dimension as about 3.75 inches at 100 for the Diavari and the Conquest chart gives 4". Good enough! The Conquest chart is here:https://kyuri.my.salesforce.com/sfc...eIECfzXBhK83seYfYX5C6f3v8ADmNfsS78_maeO8
