With a good gun, rimfire ammunition quality becomes the limiting factor, rather than scope power. So, a six power scope can be enough for precision long range rimfire.
Here are results with an old, steel Weaver T-6 mounted on a 14” Contender 22LR Match, with bipod and rear bag, and using LAPUA Polar Biathlon ammunition on a 6” steel disc at 200 yards.
