It's a accurate hard hitting gun.
But unforgiven in shooting form error given the bullet dwell time in the barrel if your not familar with one.

It is a dark side inline.
But I paid my dues hunting for 17 years with a TC Renegade 50 day in day out on FTCKY and during TN ml seasons.

Killed alot of deer with that, but also let alot of deer walk being out of range of it.

Simplified my life with a savage 220F for Ft campbell and the Kodiak for Tn ml.
For about 7 years up until I got the 220 4yr ago
The Kodiak was the everyday gun that the renegade was.

Our Tn rifle season starts this saturday.
8x57 time.

Pop the hind quarters at the hip joint.

Mid section drops on the ground.

Easy Peasy.

No messing with pee bag, anus. Guts. Organs. Etc.

Probably works great on bucks that are 140 lbs on the hoof and can be driven up to.

Works on all sizes.

Couple years back. Killed a funky 7pt. Weighed 175# on the scales.

Drug it too where i could get my SxS. Couldn’t get it in the bed by myself.

When i went to lift it, tailgate would try to close.

Put him in the floorboard.

Now i have a boat winch rigged up. Easy Peasy.

Good job, you do well in a pretty hard to hunt area.

I don't eat deer meat anymore Long spur hunter.

Raised up in Maine
Ate it all the time.
Daughters when they was young ate it with dad all the time.
Oldest is 29 lives , Army Captain waiting to pin on Major. Surgical Nurse
Middle is 27 ex army Cpt MI UAV pilot, works for a 3 letter agency now doing same
Youngest is 22, just grad college semester early, manages a GNC here in town now.
Probably live at home forever milking the baby of the family thru her momma thing.

I stopped eating deer meat about 8 or 9 yrs ago.
That was at slumlords church game supper event thing.
The girls grew out of it over time well before that.
Teenage girls change what is cool or uncool in their minds.
Beleive it or not😄😄😄
While they was growing out of deer meat for awhile, I would get soldiers to chip in on a butcher bill for meat if they wanted.
Bring in bags of jerky for joes to wolf down.
Infantry companies are full of hunters and they share and reciprocate.
Some split a butcher bill with me.
I would keep 2 or 3 steaks, couple pds of burger, maybe some butterflies from a back strap. Maybe 10 pds of meat...
Give the person all the rest for half the butcher bill.
Was around 75 total to process back then.
I retired in 08.
Wasnt gonna go knock on neighbors doors petitioning deer meat split a butcher bill campaign.
FTCKY had a meat locker reefer trailer to donate a carcass for soldiers on a sign up list to get and do whatever with one.
Easy peasy

I would rather have a can of beefaroni cold with a plastic spoon.

And just some extra pickles...

I have always been non particular in what I eat.

I let some big boys on post walk with the Renegade and open partridge sights.
100 125 yd iffy shots
Open shots presented and just grin and bear it.

100 was really pushing it for me with the renegade.
Even with half a bead sitting in the bottom of the U, sighted in for a finer sight picture was iffy at longer distance due to slight variation in actual sight alignment and picture
The distance increase error thing of POI in cahoots with POA and sight picture.

75 80 yds out was GTG.
Wooded terrian anyways.
Most shots well under 50 around here.

But it is nice having a scoped inline reach out and touch something to 150 with confidence giving a good shot presentation and steady rest.
Shifting the kodiak constantly yesterday on my catpole monopod and both elbows on my knees trying to get a lane on that buck is a example of scope over open sights.

And we all know ...
Peoples milegae might vary on here of course.......

Choot man, it’s nice to have a scoped inline for FIFTY yard shots. And any kind of rest is better than none. I ain’t proud when it comes to putting the bullet where I want it.

Very nice buck.

Not anything worth saving on a rib cage you can’t trim while he’s upside down. Then it turns into a gut bucket. Only reason to leave a skinned deer whole is to age him a while hanging. And YMMV

Yeah, let a little 6 and medium 8 walk. This big doe was just begging to go in the freezer though.

My neighbor thought the 8 was a "shooter" based on trail cam pics, but the body looked smaller than the doe I shot, so he walked.

The 30-30 with a Gemtech Tracker was effective and quiet.

We got some snow by the time it was over. I let the younguns have the blinds with heaters, and I froze my azz off.

Slumdogmillionaire wants ta do a afternoon to evening hunt.
Be the 1st one of the year for me.
Not much of an evening type myself.
Morning to mid afternoon person myself.
Last time bout 3 yrs ago he killed a real nice 8.

Yesterday when we was driving out at noon.
A big ole blocky bodied buck crossed in front of us about 40 yds out.
Neither of us got a look at his rack.
Just a good look at his body structure for about 2 or 3 secs.

Droopy belly and sway back is what I seen.

Came from the general direction of his SW corner stands.

It's November anything can happen any time of the day.

I been hunting every morning since last saturday.
Kinda a break this morning to me.
Just chillin....

Baylor ate my tee shirt that I had left over to cut my cleaning patches with.
Go to wally world and get another soon
Down to 5 patches today.
I discharge my ML each day and have a 4 patch cleaning routine that takes about 20 mins to do for same barrel condition to hunt with.
Entirely different from the put up to next season cleaning routine.

Good luck you guys.

I've seen a lot more deer in the AM, but they were all smaller.

The big ones have been last light. Makes the post-shot shenanigans more fun, since the snow makes "tracking" something Stevie Wonder could do.

Everyone was standing around shining a light for me last night. 😁

That amount of snow down here in Tn would shut the state down for at least 2 days.
Be fughing demolition derby on the roads.
Everybody would be bumrushing walmart for milk, bread, rock salt, and something for their kids to go sliding with.

Me.....
Hit the 4H 4wd button
Chugg up the drive way.
Wait on Khan to come out all bundled the fugg up...
Get on rd
Hit 2wd button

Coffee runs and hauling khans non driving in the snow azz around so she can get her gotta go shopping and spend money on stupid schit fix for the day...
Cause she has stove the fugg up every new vehicle I have got her since 94......🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
