Everybody has a different “best” movie. There were many great ones. A lot of John Wayne’s work was great. Too many to mention really. Character actors make or break a movie. Just about everything Strother Martin was in was a hit. Same with Jack Elam. Too many to mention.

Lots of good ones have been mentioned - many that would make my top ten, but I've got another vote for Godfather.

I watched Platoon recently. I can’t always pick a favorite but it’s close to the top.

You gotta go by genre. Too many to call one. Can’t do it. Even in a given genre it can get hard. Say westerns - Wild bunch, Josey Wales, comedy and satire isn’t even my thing but there’s blazing saddles. You can go on and on.
