.223 is my favorite cartridge.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Was your 660 a 223 or a three deuces? For some reason I’ve always wanted one of those ugly things.
Strangely enough I was an anti 223 guy for a long time. Not anti .224 just the 223 in particular as it was too boring since everyone has one. I’ve seen the light though, if boring is large flat rate boxes of brass I don’t mind leaving lying on the ground for dirt cheap, accuracy, and surprising effectiveness I like boring. That 660 is a deuce. And Ive danced around the .223 enough too, but its hard to argue with something that works so well. That said my favorite is the deuce for a kind of stupid reason. In the middle of high volume shooting, or predator shooting at night if you have to reload in a hurry, the deuce has some "slop" in the mag and you dont have to look at it or be careful, just stuff them in. Haven't shot a .223/5.56 in many, many years, but they do work.

I just took in a nice Sako .22-250 on consignment. I have been trying to resist the urge to work out a deal with the owner to buy it outright.

I’m thinking a 22-250 or a 22Creed with a 7 twist might be a world beater. I haven’t had a big 22 in years but I’m going to have my lathe set up soon and that may change.
