Another point of interest are En Bloc clips. ammogarand.com has AEC-3 milspec commercial clips for ~ $1/pop. Rifle won't run (hand chamber only) w/o'em, and 25 will clip up 200 rounds of ammo. (for when things go bad) Compared to magazine costs, they are pretty economical. GR

GR number of years ago cmp was selling those by the bagful. i think from memory like .20/piece or something like that. i bought a bunch of them trying to get the different manufactures.

I had 6 and traded 3 for AR's. 10 years later that was a real stupid mistake. The ones I traded were the Greek returns so I wasn't out a ton of money. But they had the "cool" factor going for them.
kwg i bought one of the greek returns and sent it to a guy in kentucky to refinish it. the stock looked like a beaver had got a hold of it. new french bastogne wood, reparked, every part spec'd, douglas match grade barrel in .308 it now both looks and shoots good

During the Greek Returns, when the CMP was sellin' M1 rifles as fast as they could box'em up, En Bloc clips got to be a little scarce. So, w/ some prodding from the CMP Forum, they contracted Aggressive Engineering for a run of "CMP-3" clips, in 25/ea. boxes, for ~ $20?/pop. They (AEC-3 clips) got up to ~ $2/pop for a while. Good to see'em < $1. GR

And, 12 years ago I think it was a fair trade. I wish I would of kept one of those Greek's and had a 308 barrel put on it. kwg

Glad I got mine when I did. Beautiful HRA that was rebuilt at Anniston. Might have 50 rounds through it. Love those red stocks.

My Garand showed up this week. Special for $750 with new barrel. Looks great and hope to shoot it this weekend. I was on the website and looks like everything is sold out now so I got lucky.

So, are these not criterion barrels? Think for this high-volume offering - they cast their Bbl. net a little broader than just Criterion. GR

I ordered my Expert 308 Jan 21 and received it February 22. It’s a May 1944 all Springfield with very, very light pitting on upper leg of the receiver. Now my IHC can get some relief at range time!
