Yep JWP I really like that 9mm load, and switched out to carrying it even in town when all the rioting started happening here a while back. Figured if I needed to shoot through things to protect myself/family, then it would be a solid choice.  I also use them as my daily carry round

MS You guys are keeping me hopping! I will let you guys know when I get another shipment of .45 components in and do a run. This heavy .45 load has been extremely popular, which is funny as when you read elsewhere the gun world (articles) will tell you that the .45 ACP is dead. HA!

The S&W Shield is a pretty small, light gun and in testing these loads in the G30S which is a lighter. thinner slide version of a standard G30 (which in itself is a shorter length slide version of a full size G21) I found the recoil to be quite snappy and very much a handful. While the brass did not give me indications of unlocking early or what people refer to as "smiles" (bulges in the brass), I felt that if I was going to use this load in the compact G30S, I would opt for heavier springs. Frankly I think this is a load best reserved for full sized framed gun/Commander sized guns.
In short, I cannot recommend it for use in a Shield unless I have personally tested the loads in one, which I have not.
