Yes to the Q, but something I don't recall coming from Ramsey is how to leverage your money. So, new car is needed. Save up the cash, then pay for the car with a cc. A cc that offers bennies (miles, points, whatever) and pay for the car with the cc. Pay off that cc in full when the bill comes in. You've got the car and XX bennie points to use on something else.
RB I don't know any car dealer that'll let you charge a whole vehicle. A down payment they will, but not the entire car. I have done it a couple of times, the last time being when I purchased my 2016 Jeep. We cut the deal on price and when they asked how I wanted to pay for it I handed them my credit card - there was a great deal of moaning and crying about how they couldn't take a card so I told them either they take it or I walk, They took the card which is a 2% cash card and at the end of the month I paid off the card and put the cash back it earned into savings. With todays vehicle market I doubt that they would do it since there seem to be more people who are willing to pay any price with the ongoing vehicle shortage. drover
