Does she have to resign to be nominated? If so that's back to a 50-50 spilt in the Senate. If not, then they still have a 50-50 split to fill the vacant VP office.

It will almost have to be a woman - or risk that the nominee is on the Lolita Island guest list.

Liiisa, Mittsy, and Collins will vote for whomever Joey’s controllers nominate.

I can already hear the cries from the left come this fall.

"We've put a black female on the court. If you vote us out, we won't the opportunity to do that again, which makes you racist."

The Squad is going to hold Biden accountable. Apparently he promised that his 1st appointment would be a black woman. They're preparing a list of what they call 'eligible' candidates. This should be entertaining but very scary.

I think if I where Manchin or Sinema, it would be time for some revenge.

At the least it would be like here are our top three recommendations. If you want to seat a replacement, it had better be one of these.

They also need the votes in the Senate, which they are about to lose in 9 months.

We gotta get us a negro woman. Ain’t that racist to qualify a candidate on the color of their skin????

I thought that’s what we were trying to get away from???

Whatever happens you can bet there is going to be a bruiser of a battle pushing the nomination and the confirmation through. Hopefully, the R's will figure out how to stall the nomination process past the midterms and stymie Biden in possibly his most important decision in office- but the R's haven't shown the ability to do that for the most part...

That may be true but it would be foolish to nominate someone without a law degree to this particular position- especially given the political climate at the moment...

Here is the absurd part of this announcement for his nomination- if the opposition to his pick wanted to take this to SCOTUS for relief, Slow Joe would lose as he has already announced his intentions based on race and wouldn't consider any other race. Pretty clear cut case of discrimination . Not a good omen for a nomination for a position to the most powerful court in the land...

He’s an 83 year old democrat. He should of been forced out a while ago.

Life appointments are nearly as retarded as Biden.

A three-fifths supermajority is needed, so if Republicans are worth a damn, they can stop a Marxist radical from replacing him.

I agree. It’s just that there are no minimum requirements of age, background, education, etc.

It's practically guaranteed to be a black woman, and she'll sail through conformation because few republicans will dare to vote against her.

It's a simple majority.
