Gents:

I sent a perfectly good 760 in .35Whelen down the road a few years ago. What was I thinking (dumbass!)?

Have a clean 77 model in 30/06, wish I had 35 remington. Anybody in Louisiana would like to trade I would be willing.

Hanco do you have photos of your new to you 760 or 7600? Just wondering, or maybe enabling? Be well, RZ.

I have never had a 7600 in my hands.

Is there much wobble in the forearm or is fairly tight to the slide? How smooth is the cycling of the slide?

(I have a Remington 31 shotgun and it is the smoothest slide action I have ever seen)

I have a 1981 7600 in 3006 and it is stable no wobble, it is smooth and crazy accurate but I have never hunted with it

mine are all tight and very smooth. if you want to see a real slick action, try out a model 14 or 141.

I have a decent 7600 in 30-06 and an as new 35 Rem. I was thinking of selling the 06 or reboring it to 9.3. What is it worth if I sell in - not on GB??

My $.02, plain vanilla 30-06 in "decent" shape? $7-800 right now. Maybe. Would have been $500 a year ago.

Now that 35 Rem would probably bring a bit more, but everything depends on condition.

For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I'd say Brent's $.02 is right on the money from what I've seen.

7600 carbine in 35 Whelen. I picked this up new a couple years ago from a friend's shop, got as far as mounting a scope & forming some brass from .30-06, but unfortunately this one hasn't seen the range or the woods yet.

Killed my first deer with an old 760 in 30-06. I think it’s an older deluxe model. Has a forearm I’ve not seen often or ever before.

As a kid, our camp had maybe 12 or so guys hunting. Probably 5 or 6 guys shot a 760 or 7600.

I have a Remington 141 in 35 Remington that I love. Always wanted to take a 760 in 35 rem and get it rechambered to 358.

then this should be right up your alley. 35 REM lol
In all honesty you'd be hundreds ahead to send a 308 to JES if you really wanted a 358. (I've been dreaming of doing the same thing.)

That gun has 9 days to go on Gunbroker, and I'll bet it goes north of 5 grand, and it's not in the greatest condition, BUT, it's a .35 Remington CARBINE.

According to someone on the 760/7600 FB page, there were only 456 35rem carbines ever produced. Someone must want that to complete a collection. Way too beat up to be any other explanation IMO.

Actually Brent, from my research, only 454 total in the 6 years they did produce them.

1961, 1964-1967, and 1979 if anyone is interested.

It depends on a lot of factors. Wood stock? Synthetic stock? Old? The .35 Rem is worth a ridiculous amount of money GB or not, but I'd keep that one. It's my favorite of the 7600's.

The '06 in decent shape, used but well taken care of is realistically $700-750. Which is still probably more than you bought it for.

Camp is where you make it.
