5 rifles
22 LR Ruger 10/22
22-250 Rem LVSF
270 Win Model 70 classic
338-06 Model 70 classix
416 Rem Model 70 SAfari

5 shotguns
12ga Benelli SBE
12ga Win 101 O/U
16ga Browning
20ga Benelli
410 my Grandpa's old Iver Johnson

5 Pistols
Ruger 22 LR
Bowning 1911 380
Sig 938 9mm
Glock 20 10 mm
S&W Mt gun 44 mag

5 bows
Kota Jackrabbit
Jack Kempf Wildcat
Sarrels Blue Ridge
Bear Super Kodiak
Sarrels Black HIlls

Being pragmatic with 5 firearms
Ruger 10/22 LR
Pump 12 gauge
223
30-06
375 H&H

My choices
Ruger 10/22 LR
Benelli 12ga SBE
22-250 LVSF
Model 70 classic 270 Win or Model 70 classic 338-06. I would seriously struggle with this choice
Model 70 Safari 416 Rem because I want to go after Buffalo again.
If I was to never go back to African, I could do without the 416 and the 338-06 would be my big gun..

Feel’s gross to talk about only having/using five rifles. But I’ll play along.

Browning BL-22 for small vermin
Ruger American 8 twist 22-250 for bigger vermin, and antelope if needed
Custom Remington 700 257 WBY for Deer and Antelope
Remington 700 300 Win Mag for elk
Remington 11-87 12 gauge. Ducks and geese.

5 gun battery

No 22 rim fires, they are illegal where I live. Don't ask.

1) Browning X-Bolt stainless .223 Rem.

2) Tikka Superlight stainless (in McEdge stock) 6.5 CM

3) Ruger No.1 stainless/walnut 6.5x55 SE

4) Winchester M70 stainless Featherweight (in McEdge stock) 30-06 Spr.

5) Remington 870 Magnum Express (old one) w/bird and slug barrels 12 GA.

5 rifles would cover everything I do pretty nicely, but I definitely have more. Here would be my line up, mix of function and class. I like nice walnut, and synthetic as well. This is from my current line up, and would give me plenty of overlap and cover all my bases for North America.

1. Cz452 22LR
2. Tikka T3x .223 rem
3. Tikka T3x 270 win (or 6.5 cm)
4. Kimber classic select 30-06
5. Legendary arms works Professional 300 win Mag.

I'll try:

17 Hornet
223 Tikka T3 Hunter
6mm Remington
308 Tikka T3
338 Federal or 9,3x62

I'll use Seafire's data to download my 223 loads to 22LR, 22 Mag and 22 Hornet.

The 6mm Remington and 338 Federal are barrels for my R8.

The 338 Federal could be replaced by the 9,3x62 R8 barrel and would really up my game.

22lr
223
300 Magnum
12 gauge
50 cal.ML

,223 would be dropped if I could just have 4.

That's easy. I have no interest in Africa, Big Bears, or Varmints, apart from gophers...

22lr scoped, w/ backup open sights - 77/22 All Weather
Lightweight 308 - Kimber MT
Midweight 308 w/ backup open sights - M70 SS
12 Gauge Pump Shotgun - Remington 870
Glock 19 or SS 4" Ruger Security Six - I have both but push to shove would probably go Glock.

Still the same as has been for 30+ years.....a good , scoped, 22 rim fire, bolt action rifle and my .375 AI. No reason to alter that which works! memtb

Probably 900. I know you’re right & it’s a ridiculous topic in general, however it’s nice to see how peoples preferences evolve throughout the years and how incoming sportsmen & women might see things. Anyhow…2022!

Ruger super singlesix convertible my wife gave me for our first anniversary 30 years ago

Ruger 77/22 mag I got from one of my oldest friends

Semi custom Remington 700 .243

Semi custom Remington 700 .270 my dad gave me when I was 16

Remington 870 12 gauge two barrel combo.

If I could add one more it’d be a smith and Wesson model 60 3” .357 that my dad also gave me.

It is all fun, but unless some severe lifestyle changes have to happen, there is no way I could I would ever get down to five firearms.

Hunting, firearms and bows are pretty much all I do besides work and family.

I always think of hunting rifles when these questions arise, and I always answer the same. That said if “battery” goes beyond hunting rifles.....a few more than 5! memtb
