Conservatism is about individuals freedom and the personal responsibility that goes along with that. The polar opposite of the collective and large government and zero personal responsibility the left is promoting.
Conservatives believe in the rule of law to deal with the cheaters..... not social justice Conservative believe in capitalism.... and keeping and enjoying the fruits of your labor... not collectivism redistribution While there's nothing really wrong with that, the problem is, that this is pretty much ALL that "conservatives" today (claim to) stand for. There is no longer any real respect for Culture, Tradition, or Religion. They have happily gone along with our cultural destruction for decades, without offering very much resistance. Today's "conservatives" have no regard for heritage... why, ANYONE can be an Uhmurkun if they just pass a test. It is a very shallow "conservatism". No moorings, no foundation. Destined to do exactly what it is doing... withering away. I would suggest organized religion has done more to suppress individual freedom than promote it. Other than insuring the freedom to worship any way you wish, religion has no place in politics. A person can acknowledge the importance of Judeo Christian values and the importance they have on a civil society and the founding of our country without shoving any particular religion down the throats of the population. Plus 1 A society needs norms and values rooted in something. Without that you have some brand of multiculturalism anything goes. The end result in nothing to agree upon and any goes. There’s nothing to hold a nation together. If you’re right, then it needs a hell of a lot better representation than we have in this country with Joel Osteen and his type of prosperity theology. I’m not sure who that is. I grew up fundamentalists Christian. Believing in strong men and strong families with a belief in right and wrong without believing that it’s my place to micromanage anyone else or them me. I’m far from a perfect Christian as is everyone else but see the overall framework as something to aspire towards and bond us together over shared mostly similar values. I grew up the same way, and still respect the hell out of my old man, but the sad truth is that Christianity has been co-opted by hypocrites, socializers and grifters. I don’t disagree there. To be honest I’m not as rooted in my Christianity as I was raised to be. I still see it as something that taught me about sacrifice, self control, hard work, mental and physical toughness, loyalty to family, honor, and an identity and something to aspire to. I’m not a fan nor do I believe in the weak branded stuff that a lot of people pass off as being a Christian. That isn’t how I was raised and isn’t within keeping of the Bible’s teachings IMO. Regardless of exact beliefs I think the Bible gives a great framework for how to have a high functioning society and a long and fruitful life.

There's a huge difference between organized religion and Christian values. Just like there's a huge difference between agreeing with some of Joe's nutjob opinions and recognizing his value as a warrior of free speech when tyrants everywhere are trying to suppress thought and opinions. One would think that would be easy to understand.

There's a huge difference between organized religion and Christian values. jackmountains’ post specifically mentioned “organized religion.” I would suggest organized religion has done more to suppress individual freedom than promote it. Other than insuring the freedom to worship any way you wish, religion has no place in politics. Religion and politics clearly don’t mix very well. Most of the Founder’s may have believed in God, but they also believed in the rightness of separation of church and state, and they most certainly didn’t believe that there should be a state religion. They were all about freedom of religion and freedom from religion. “Freedom” was the operative word for the Founder’s.

You're a drama queen also. The only reason you started thread, like about 90% of your threads, is to feed your addiction to conflict. Then your little girlfriend comes to your rescue, bitching about how many people posted to the thread, while he proceeded to post about a half dozen more replies. Both of you should get on estrogen therapy before the hot flashes drive you nuts.

Christian values are good and something to aspire to.... but many organized religions have been hi-jacked by charlatans perusing money and power Agreed. Christianity in particular. When organized religion becomes the most important thing, it flexes its muscles at the expense of some of the very things that are the center of the center of the center of what Jesus taught. Organized religion and ‘religious’ people have given us the phrases “Holy wars,” “child sacrifice,” “honor killings;” and it was ‘religious’ people who were members of organized religion who cried out “Crucify him…! Crucify him…! Crucify him…!”

Most of the Founder’s may have believed in God, but they also believed in the rightness of separation of church and state, Nowhere is the reference to “separation of church and state” mentioned in the Constitution or any other government document. This is an over used phrase coined by an individual or individuals to confound the true assertion by our founding fathers who unilaterally recognized the power of God secures our freedom, not a group or organization.
I was thinking the other day how much I used to hate Bill Clinton. He was freaking George Washington compared to what they are now.

On the contrary they felt it was necessary to a free republic.

Meaning that the Founder’s thought it necessary to prohibit the government from making any law “respecting an establishment of religion.” This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another.

Joe Rogan is a midget. I don't like his stand up comedy. His podcast is ok (the Dorian Yates episode was good), but most of the time it's obvious he knows little about most topics he speaks about. I wish he would stop talking about hunting. We need less rogan lovers in the field.
He is really good at calling ufc fights. If anyone casts a vote for an elected representative based off of "what would rogan do", they are retarded.
That is all.

That is all. A recent Gem from Rogan. "Elk aren't very smart and easy to hunt" It has nothing to do with Rogan and his backwards politics , but has more to do with his platform and access to some of his guests and their views.. After the recent nagger word fest scandal look for Joe to have on more second tier comedians and boring guests
