I believe it was one of the original cartridges offered in the 760. I have one from the first year they were drilled and tapped that I got for my son to use someday.

I’m not saying it won’t sell at that price but there isn’t a 760 I’ve ever laid eyes on that’s worth that kind of money to me. I gave $200 for mine, not that that’s the going rate.

I don't think so.

The BDL with chechering, the so-called "5-diamond" pattern on the forearm, would be worth more than the ADL style with the "corn cob" forearm, assuming comparable condition..

I believe they also made a run of 7600s in 300 Savage for Grices in PENN

If it's not been drilled and tapped and in at least 95% condition it would be a ballpark price around here

I’m not in the loop on the value of the Amish Automatics, but I know I would not spend that kind of cash on one, collectable or not.

If it's decent shape, it's probably going to bring that price. I'm not sure I'd pay it but someone will.

Just did some googling and 7600s in 300 Savage were only made in 2007 in a quantity of 300 each. I'm sure most of those are in PENN and prices will be very high when you find one

condition condition condition.
If drilled and hunted and anything less than 90% i would venture 600 to 700 dollars

not rare but not overly common. 760's prices are through the roof anymore for some reason. he would almost surely get that if he put it on gunbloater. FTF sale i would offer $700 and see what he says. probably say no but its a starting point. an LGS would probably give him 3-400.

I have an early one. As it's been mentioned, they're not really *rare*....but not exactly common, either. $950 isn't a great deal, but it all depends on condition.

Matters what part of the country you are in. If you are in the Great Lakes-upper NE part of US it shouldn't be that hard to find one in halfway decent shape, for less than $700. Very popular combination in its day. LGS's are your friend in this regard as they tend to have a good idea as to what their normal customers have as trade bait, and can search for one "offline." Never hurts to ask around. Heck put up a WTB post in classified section down below.

What ccd said. It might bring that price in PA or up and down the east coast. Not here in Michigan. Recent online auction one sold for about $300. Maybe 500-600 at LGS. Condition, condition, condition.

Don’t lose the magazine. Most will not cycle with anything but a dedicated .300 Savage magazine.

Unless you’re a collector or have a serious (and IMO unreasoned) stiffy for the .300, I see no reason to pay that kind of money for a 760. The market’s crazy, but you don’t have to be. Find a nice ‘06 or .308 at a reasonable price. Nothing wrong with a .300, but nothing special either, and ammo choices are never going to match the other two.

I live in Lancaster, Pa and I follow a lot of the gun auctions in the region etc. We actually have quite a few. I will say if a rare 760 caliber is up for auction you know it when you look at the auction results. The collectors/investor types know the value and will pay $1,500-$1,800 (35 Whelen & 280 goe big if I recall correctly) for those PA machine guns. I have noted at auction recently any 760/7600 produced after say 1965 have been getting 750-1000. I am guessing it is the unknown of whether Rem Arms will continue to produce those guns. I think 300 savage falls on the rare side things. Not special edition rare but not overly common. That is a decent price and probably a great price for collector. I saw a 30-06 Carbine sell last month for $1,250 and it wasn't anything special.

Make sure the mag is matching the chambering. Those old 300 Savage mags for 760 are a wee bit expensive.

I agree with Aag, if the OP is patient he will eventually find what he is looking for in states where the 760 isnt very popular at a much better price.
