I rode on at Stone Mountain, Georgia. The driver was a great big black fella. He played “Who Let the Dogs Out” loud as it would go on the radio, and went down that launching ramp wide open. The kids loved it.

Yep, we rode one when we were in Mazatlán in '86. It ferried people for day trips from the crowded hotel beaches to a less crowded island about a mile out.

No, in Suckass Charlie's case the difference would be "ride."

Not a duck, but a classmate in high school had one of those mid 60's Amphicars.

Yep, they have them in Hot Springs, AR on Lake Hamilton. One sank years ago, killing some of the riders. Think the same thing happened in WI.

Yes. At Coronado. They kicked us off and we had to swim back.

Technically, (but who GAF, that is a LARC V). I worked for a company that delivered marine freight around the Aleutians and the cost of Alaska, and used a couple of them for amphib delivery operations. They eventually gave up, they were extremely dangerous in any kind of rough water or surf, carried a payload of a pissant proportions, and I was challenged keeping the twin V8 Cummins reliable. Endless electrical problems in the salt environment. I don't think the military used them for very long either. Every time the boss made me ride along on a landing, I wore a regular life vest and a Mae West...shows how much confidence I had in the aluminum coffin.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

17 died on one in Branson in 2017. Freak storm popped up and it took on big waves.

I’d ridden there in 2016.
