that may have been 1970 in Oregon, or 1967 in a tax state.

Oregon on a hitch hike up the west coast. cigarettes a quarter, gas a quarter.
too young to buy beer, but it was 1.25-1.50 a six pack for good beer. about a quarter a can. about an hours pay to buy a six pack beer.
