Imagine the complete decay of society that would occur. Not Mad Max. Not The Road. It would be far worse because of the huge numbers of people that would be running lawless. Hell yeah... Just fueled up the backhoe yesterday.

I’m OK, there are no military targets anywhere around here 🙂 Yep San Antonio has no military significance, other than the VA. Ft. Sam? Med center. 5 or 6 different bases, Lackland is the first that comes to mind Son’s stationed there, and agree. There’s a lot happening there. I’ve not mentioned much to his mother.

Putin wants Ukraine. It would take a class A idiot to nuke a place that you want to keep. Tactical battlefield nukes are low yield air burst weapons and I doubt any nukes would be use in Ukraine.

Don't forget manufacturing locations! I'm an hour outside of Detroit. From what I understand we've always been a target because of all the manufacturing plants that can changeover to tanks and planes and other military toys. Military bases don't produce any of the toys they play with!
Proper prior practice prevents piss poor performance!

MAD provides a lot of deterrence, true enough.
The scenario people worry about is a gradual escalation which reaches critical mass. Russia has battlefield nukes because they believe they can be used sparingly EXACTLY because of MAD. So if Russia reasons that the world fears MAD so much that even it were to use tactical nukes we would not escalate, and then the US who does not have battlefield nukes.and gets worried about first strike advantage.
Bad things can follow.
